Do You Really Need 1,000 Words…

PowerPoint

… or would a picture be worth far more in making your point? Seriously, think of all the presentations you’ve been in over the course of your career. Do you remember much from all those PowerPoint bullets? I didn’t think so.

Now take a look at this post on the art of visual thinking from Guy Kawasaki, and see how much you remember about his new search engine, Alltop. I love this post for a couple of reasons. One, with some help from Dan Roam, the author and artist of a great new book, The Back of the Napkin, Guy demonstrates how effective a good picture is in getting an idea across in a sticky and compelling way. Second, it gives me a great reason to promote Guy’s book, The Art of the Start. It’s a fantastic read for anyone who wants to start anything — a business, a non-profit, a movement. Check it out.
