How to Break the Trust Barrier

Posted 08.03.2016

There’s trust and then there’s trust. Sure, you and your team need to trust each other to achieve results over the long run, but you’re likely not working together at supersonic (and I mean that literally) speed to achieve peak performance.

JV Venable has led teams that perform at supersonic levels and joins me in this podcast interview to explain how it’s done.

Colonel John “JV” Venable, USAF (Retired) is the author of Breaking the Trust Barrier: How Leaders Close the Gaps for High Performance. In his book and in our conversation, JV shares what it takes to establish the trust to fly less than an arm’s length away from a jet moving 500 miles per hour at 400 feet off the ground. JV has taken his experience as commander and demonstration leader for the USAF demonstration squadron, the Thunderbirds, to unpack and share what it takes to build the kind of trust where your team is willing to put their lives into each other’s hands.

You don’t have to be a fighter pilot to benefit from what JV has to offer in our conversation.
